Zimbabwe Safari
Travel Guide
Everything you need to know before your trip — visas, currency, getting here, and the best time to go.
Before You Go
Visas
Most nationalities can obtain a visa on arrival at Victoria Falls Airport or the land borders. The KAZA UniVisa (Zimbabwe + Zambia, single entry) is also available on arrival for many nationalities and allows a day trip across to the Zambian side of the Falls. Requirements vary by passport — WhatsApp us your nationality and we'll confirm what you need before you fly.
Currency
The US Dollar is widely accepted for tourism, tours and lodges throughout Zimbabwe. Cards are accepted at most hotels and larger operators; carry small USD bills for tips, curio markets and local transport.
Getting There
Victoria Falls Airport (VFA) has direct and connecting flights from Johannesburg, Cape Town, Nairobi and other regional hubs. It sits about 20 minutes from town and the Falls themselves.
Language
English is Zimbabwe's official language and widely spoken, alongside Shona and Ndebele.
Health
Victoria Falls is a malaria area — consult your doctor about antimalarial medication before travel. Routine travel vaccinations should be up to date; check current yellow fever certificate requirements for your routing.
